FSSAI Re-labeling & Re-Packing License
Get Your Food Re-Packaging Business FSSAI Certified
Businesses involved in repackaging, re-labeling, or modifying food products must obtain a specialized FSSAI License to ensure compliance with food safety norms.
Documents Required
- ID proof of proprietor/partners/directors (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport)
- Address proof of business premises (rent agreement, electricity bill, etc.)
- Proof of business constitution (proprietorship, partnership deed, MOA/AOA)
- Manufacturer’s licence copy and agreement (if sourcing products)
- Premises layout with machinery, capacity, and process details
- List of food categories, expected turnover, and business scale
- Product recall and traceability plan
- Label samples with brand name, address, FSSAI number, and mandatory declarations
Who Needs This License?
- If you buy food products from a licensed manufacturer and repackage or label them under your own brand, you need this licence.
- Businesses outsourcing production to third parties but selling under their own brand also fall under “re-labelling.”
- For operations across multiple states, a Central FSSAI licence is required.
Retailers selling pre-packed goods under another brand may not need this licence unless they modify the packaging or branding.
